July 2 Construction Update

Posted on July 2, 2015 at 4:56 PM by Julie Sutor

Side Road Repairs
We have completed all necessary crack filling and patching on Vail Circle, Meadow Drive, Hideaway Court and Idlewild Drive in preparation for resurfacing. Upon closer examination of the condition on Glacier Court, we have decided to add that road to the list of side roads that will be resurfaced. All driveways associated with the side-road work have been prepped for resurfacing. Cutler Repaving will move equipment into Summit Cove at the end of next week. We estimate that side-road resurfacing should be complete by July 17. There will be some detours, but we expect relatively few disruptions for residents on these streets.

Summit Drive
Columbine Hills Concrete will start working on Summit Drive next week. Crews will begin pulling mailboxes and placing them into 5-gallon buckets. They’ll also start placing erosion control devices and establish a staging area on the old recreation center property at the corner of Summit Drive and Cove Boulevard. Toward the end of the week (likely July 9 and 10), Columbine will begin removing and replacing culverts on Summit Drive that have been identified as deficient. Flaggers and detours will be in place to direct traffic safely in and out of the construction work zone. The fire district and Summit County Dispatch will be notified accordingly.

The construction hotline is active. Call 970-668-4232 to ask questions and communicate concerns.

Thanks for Your Patience
We realize that the construction work will create some temporary inconveniences, which we'll do our best to minimize. Please be alert for detours, flaggers and construction workers. Thanks very much for your patience as we implement these improvements.
