Contact:Lorie Williams, Community & Senior Center Manager: 970-668-2945SUMMIT COUNTY – The Summit Seniors will hold their annual Gigantic Rummage Sale and Silent Auction from August 2-5, raising tens of thousands of dollars to support local nonprofit organizations throughout Summit County. The annual event, which takes place at the Summit County Community & Senior Center in Frisco, serves as a pop-up thrift store where Summit County residents and visitors can find great bargains on a wide range of items, including clothing, home goods, sports equipment, antiques and more. Community members can also participate in the event by donating gently used items to be sold during the Rummage Sale. Local businesses are invited to donate items for the silent auction.“This is our largest fundraiser of the year, and it's a really fun way to invest in the community," event co-chair Brenda Alberico said. "Whether you come to take advantage of the amazing deals, bid on silent auction items or donate something to the sale, your involvement goes directly toward strengthening Summit County."In 2017, the Rummage Sale raised $43,000. The Summit Seniors donate all proceeds to community organizations including Timberline Adult Day Services, National Repertory Orchestra, Summit County Search & Rescue, Summit Community Care Clinic, Friends of the Dillon Ranger District and the Family and Intercultural Resource Center. The volunteer-run event is in its 26th year.
